How to understand traffic lights?
Traffic lights are a general term for various types of traffic signals, including traffic lights, traffic signs, traffic markings, and traffic police command gestures. These are the main components of road traffic management, the main technical means of road traffic management, and the content that we often interact with in road traffic management regulations. They are the foundation for establishing the right of everyone to apply the road, and play an irreplaceable role in ensuring road traffic safety and smoothness. Whether it's motor vehicles, non motor vehicles, or pedestrians, they all need to interact with traffic signals.
1. Concept of traffic signal lights
The traffic signal light is composed of a combination of red, green, and yellow lights.
2. Basic guidelines for traffic lights
(1) When the green light is on, vehicles and pedestrians are allowed to pass, but turning vehicles are strictly prohibited from obstructing the passage of straight vehicles and released pedestrians.
(2) When the yellow light is on, vehicles and pedestrians are strictly prohibited from passing, but vehicles that have crossed the stop line and pedestrians that have entered the crosswalk can continue to pass.
(3) When the red light is on, vehicles and pedestrians are strictly prohibited from passing.
(4) Control the lane signal light of the motor vehicle lane, and when the green arrow light is on, allow vehicles in this lane to pass in the indicated direction; When the red forked light or red arrow light is on, vehicles in this lane are strictly prohibited from passing.
(5) When operating the signal lights at the intersection of roads and railways, with two red lights flashing alternately or one red light on, it means that vehicles and pedestrians are strictly prohibited from passing; When the red light goes out, it means that vehicles and pedestrians are allowed to pass.
(6) The arrow direction of the directional indicator signal light for controlling the direction of vehicle travel is left, up, and right, representing left turn, straight ahead, and right turn, respectively.
(7) The flashing warning signal lights for safety warning vehicles and pedestrians are continuously flashing yellow lights, indicating that vehicles and pedestrians should pay attention to the surrounding area when passing, and pass after confirming safety.
